Bryce Harper Player Summary
Bryce Harper was drafted by the Washington Nationals with the 1st overall pick in the 2010 MLB Draft out of College of Southern Nevada. Harper played seven seasons with the Nationals before signing a 13 year, $330M contract with the Philadelphia Phillies in 2019.
Bryce Harper laid the foundation for his MLB legacy over his first seven seasons with the Nationals. During that time, Harper was named 2010 NL Rookie of the Year, 2015 NL MVP, and was selected to six NL All-Star teams.
During his 2015 NL MVP campaign, Harper led MLB with 118 Runs, 42 HRs, and a 0.649 SLG %, according to Baseball Reference. Since 2015, Harper has not had another MVP caliber season, but he has consistently performed well, typically hitting above .250 with 30+ homeruns.
Harper will be in his 3rd year with the Philadelphia Phillies entering the 2021 season. Harper fans and baseball card collectors are hoping that his 3rd season will bring a return to MVP form. He has already proven he is capable of that type of season, but only time will tell whether he ever reaches that level again.
